Pet+Dog

Living with a four-legged companion is a mix of both relaxing and stressful. Relaxing in a sense that you are coming home to a loving pet and stressful since you do not know if you still have a bed to sleep on after a long day of work. Whether you’re living alone or with a furry-friend, we have several advice to help you or someone you know in making their homes a good one for them and for their pets.

FURNITURE PLACEMENT

Home Furniture

Take deep consideration in where you put certain furniture in your home.  Pets tend to knock whatever thing comes their way. Keep in mind that fragile and expensive decors must be located in areas where your pets cannot access or not settled near places where they usually play or lounge around.

INVEST IN A VACUUM

If you have a furry dog or cat, it is inevitable that their fur will be all over the place, sofa, pillows, sheets, carpets, and the like. Investing in a vacuum will be a big help in helping you maintain the cleanliness of your home.

OPT FOR CARPETS WHICH MATCHES YOUR PET’S FUR

If you want to put an accent carpet in your space, select once which complements with your pet’s fur. Through that, it will not be too noticeable even if your pet sheds a lot.

GROOM PETS REGULARLY

In order to maintain the pristine condition of most furniture, schedule your pets for grooming regularly. Long nails have a huge tendency on damaging your flooring and sofas. You can also avoid having a furry situation in your furniture if their fur is always trimmed.

BE MINDFUL OF THE WIRING

Always keep in mind all the electric outlets and wiring around your home. Your pet may chew whatever it likes while you are at work. Remember to unplug appliances whenever you are leaving your dog at home alone. There are also outlet covers you can buy on hardware stores to keep pets from meddling with those electrical hazards.

TRAINING

It all boils down to how you discipline your pet. Pets learn what to do or what not to do based on how the owner reacts to their actions. If you constantly laugh and cuddle your pet every single time they destroy your couch, table, or clothes, they get a positive perception that what they did is good. Give a remark which will connote that their actions are not right. A firm “no” or “bad” will suffice.

You do not have to compromise your own needs in order to make way for satisfying your pets’ wants. There are ways which you can do in order to have a peaceful home life with your four-legged friends. No need to enclose them in cages 24/7, it is possible that you and your beloved pet can live under one roof, in harmony.
